Whoa. Beautiful, vibrant, almost photographic, painted portraits of larger than life pop-culture icons… that literally are larger than life! This is the work of LA based artist Alison van Pelt {oil on canvas & oil/acrylic on canvas}. The pieces with text are from a series titled, “If I Were Ed Ruscha” … so good, but clearly I had to add a few that weren’t part of the collection too {otherwise how could I get Tom Cruise, Gwen Stefani, and that hot pink Frida Kahlo in there!} ♥
